Eunisell Limited and Rivers United Football Club have launched the new Eunisell-branded jersey for the 2017/2018 football season. The unveiling, which held at Renaissance Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, December 4, 2017, attracted a good number of football stakeholders and the sports media.

In a welcome address, Eunisell’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Charles Etuk, expressed delight over the extension of the shirt sponsorship deal, emphasizing ‘consistency’ as one of the company’s core values, and this has been demonstrated in its sponsorship relationship with the football club. He encouraged the Club to achieve more and make the company proud.

Speaking, Mr. Chika Ikenga, Group Managing Director, Eunisell Limited, said the company was pleased to renew its sponsorship, which was a result of the company’s belief in the Club. Mr. Ikenga explained the entertainment and business sides of football while stressing that success in football largely depends on hard work and sacrifice.

He urged Rivers United to “work harder and make the required sacrifice”. He stated, “You must find the strength to push forward and be the best”. Mr. Ikenga charged the team to win the trophy.

In a remark, the General Manager of Rivers United, Chief Okey Kpalukwu, congratulated the company upon its recent Nigerian Professional League Bloggers Award and described the company as “consistent”, “principled” and “involved” in sports. Chief Kpalukwu thanked Eunisell and attributed the Club’s success, in recent times, to the unflinching support of the company.

He, however, assured the company: “We are not going to disappoint Eunisell. This time, we must compensate them by achieving more. We will not relent as stakeholders of the league”.

Mr. Harry Iwuala, representing the League Management Company, commended Eunisell for its consistent sponsorship. In his words: “Eunisell is one of the pillars in corporate football sponsorship”. He urged companies to invest in clubs as it helps in boosting performance.

When interviewed, the Team Captain, Festus Austin, also known as “Koboko”, said the sponsorship had been a morale booster for the players. He apologized for the team’s poor performance in the last season and added, “We must go for trophy this coming season”. After the unveiling, there was a photo session and attendees had lunch afterwards.
